This year’s Capital Pride celebration, scheduled for the weekend of June 11-12, marks the first time in two years — due to the COVID-19 pandemic — that the Capital Pride Alliance will hold large-scale, in-person events, beginning with the Capital Pride Parade and Capital Pride Block Party on Saturday, June 11, and ending with the Capital Pride Festival and Concert on Sunday, June 12, with international, local, and regional performances on three distinct stages.

The Capital Pride Alliance is excited to invite you to experience the first annual Colorful Fest, including a Block Party & Fair at Dock 5, located at Union Market, on Sunday, October 17, 2021, proudly presented by Xfinity and Nissan. It will feature small independent businesses, community groups, artisans, and food. PRESS RELEASE (July 13, 2021) - Miami Beach Pride is happy to announce its legendary pride celebration will return on September 10—19, 2021, with a hotly anticipated festival and parade happening on the weekend of the 18-19, boasting a star-studded roster of almost 100% LGBTQ talent.

World-class entertainers such as Walk the Moon, Carson Kressley, Tracy Young, Alex Newell, Nitty Scott, and Ralphi Rosario are slated to headline the pop and Latin stages this year as well as host other ticketed events during the week-long celebration. The Miami Beach Pride theme and mantra is ONE LOVE, inspired by Bob Marley's iconic song encouraging us to demonstrate love to ourselves and others, and is also the perfect tribute to the tropical surroundings that only Miami Beach can provide.

"We believe that love has the power to unify us. By reinforcing solidarity and acceptance within our community and with our allies, we can truly begin to create more inclusive spaces that are representative of our amazing LGBTQ community," said Miami Beach Pride Executive Director Rich Walczak. "Our brand is built on the concept of self-acceptance and authenticity, that's why we want everyone to feel like they belong at our celebration this year."

Miami Beach Pride, working in tandem with local leaders, announced its new COVID-19 protocols and prevention measures (available online soon) for a safe and exciting festival. The organization has been examining the various factors that can lead to disease spread and seeks to mitigate the spread with a host of safety protocols, including a campaign encouraging attendees to Stop The Spread and Register For Pride. Updates to the flow of the festival include social distancing, mask-wearing, sanitizer stations and distribution, frequent disinfection, increased VIP tent sizes, and online registration.

Miami Beach Pride's online registration portal is now available and all Pride-goers are strongly encouraged to register. Registration enables the organization to more effectively communicate any changes in local, state, and federal COVID-19 safety guidelines and increases the accuracy of their contact tracing program.

To further support the health of the community, The Independent Medical Group will also be onsite to distribute 50,000 COVID-19 vaccinations completely free of charge. The tent will be clearly marked on the festival grounds and open to all attendees.

The festival’s health plan meets all the Governor’s Guidelines for outdoor events. They will be working closely with the Chicago Parks District and the city of Chicago to safely bring you one of the first festivals to Chicago since the pandemic started. MARCH 12, 2020 // OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Upon further collaboration today with the mayor of Miami Beach and our health-related partners, the Board of Directors of Miami Beach Pride has announced the rescheduling of the 2020 Pride event, with the exception of the smaller, outdoor events scheduled for Monday, March 30. The decision was based on safeguarding the health of the event’s guests, sponsors, volunteers, staff and community-at-large.

Monday night’s events will go on as scheduled as a symbol of solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. Those events include the Rainbow Pride Flag Raising Ceremony at Miami Beach City Hall, the Pulse Nightclub remembrance ceremony at 1111 Lincoln Road (Pride Lights The Night) and the Queer Art Pop-Up Showcase at the rooftop of 817 N. Lincoln Lane.

The dates for the other Pride events to be rescheduled will be announced upon further dialogue with City officials.
